What Tester Role Has More Status? ________________________
Question:
1.Which Tester Role jobs more scope, powerful, more opportunity and High salary?
2.Which Testing Designation more powerful?
Its not the *title* that makes one more powerful or have more opportunity. All of my staff have the title of Test Engineer.

Answer:
Some of these people are merely adequate, and some of them excel. The ones who excel are the ones who get paid higher salaries and to whom I give additional opportunities. It's the PERSON not the title that matters.
What is different about the ones who excel? They are the ones who truly like what they do, who have a passion and a curiousity about them. They put in extra effort, they want to know WHY something works, rather than just complete a test checklist. The people who choose a job based solely on the initial salary most often never excel, they just don't love what they are doing and it shows.
My advise is to find something you love to do, work hard at it, and the money and opportunities will follow.
When I interview candidates I always ask why they got into testing, and what they find interesting about testing. I will never hire the people who say they like testing because of the money.

Answer:
If your company calls you a Testing Guru, that's OK.
If they say you're a PhD of Testing, you have a problem.
Engineer is actually a granted title, but people don't always agree or know
the facts.
Ask any "real" engineer. My cousin went to university for seven years (four
under grad, and three in grad school) all in engineering programs. He graduated as a Master of Engineering, but not as an engineer. He still has to be certified by a board before he can wear that title. This requires two years of work experience in the job of Civil Engineering (his chosen field) and then another two years under a certified engineer who will report to the board.
It absolutely bugs him that it's so easy to get a testing engineering certification. It only takes a test and a few other requirements (depending
on the grantee).
Engineering IS a certification, not a title handed to you by an employer.
I too have been incorrectly called a testing engineer by a past employer. Perhaps you can now rectify the situation where you have chosen to give a
title to someone who has not earned it.
